The reo Māori initiatives below are aimed at increasing the visibility, the application and the everyday usage of te reo Māori in multiple contexts including but not limited to Orākei and the homes of hapū members, in both spoken and written forms.
It seeks to make visible and audible the Māori language so that it permeates our environment and reaches the ears and hearts of our people to advance the cultural capital, health and identity of our people
Tākina is an new innovative accelerated learning programme developed by Ngāti Whātua reo practitioner Ropata Paora.
Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei and Tākina have joined forces to provide three free interactive Te Reo Māori programmes for registered Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei members and their spouses / partners: Tākina Kura Pō, Tākina Online Lessons & Tākina Wānanga. Click here for more info.
